Worklist
NetBSD 4.0 will be the next big release, so one purpose of this worklist is to get the guide ready for 4.0. Please add suggestions for new chapters, chapters that should be removed (or merged), errors that need to be fixed and things that could be improved:
Read through the guide and pay attention to:
- errors
- incompleteness and missing information
- outdated information or data
- unintelligible examples, explanations or listings
- blur or inconsistencies
- insecure practice
- wrong devices in examples or listings
Making the Guide more platform-indipendent - Where is the guide too much i386 or amd64 specific, not platform-indipendent enough? Replacing sections, writing them platform-indipendent, moving parts to the port specific FAQs.
Transferring most of the content from http://netbsd.org/docs/misc/index.html into the Guide Most of these basic things belong into the Guide - if not already there. The aim is to remove this ("Basic NetBSD questions") entirely from the "FAQs and HOWTOs" section.
Revision of chapter 17 "Tuning NetBSD"
Virtualization chapter We need new virtualization chapter. xen-howto can be used as good source for information. With netbsd-4 xen-3 dom0 and domU is going to main stream so we have to document it for our users before netbsd-4 release.
