Talk:How to install a server with a root lfs partition
From NetBSD Wiki
I'd really like to know if the information on this page is up to date. I'm interested in LFS, but the warnings about corruption at >75% certainly are sufficient to stop me from using it.
It is - Andrew Doran's amazing work to remove the biglock has not reached LFS. Therefore LFS does not work in current atm. The last working current with LFS is 4.99.31. You can still mount LFS, but root lfs, doesn't work for me (it is always mounted read only). This will probably fixed sometime in the future. Otherwise i have a box running lfs since 1.5 yrs without any problems.

I went ahead and formatted a 650 GB partition LFS and started a rsync from an FFS. It did freeze the system after a few hours of rsync (USB2) leaving a volume with negative ifree space after 130 GB of data. Parameters probably need fine tuning.
