Talk:How to install a LAMP Server
From NetBSD Wiki
Is setting CVS_RSH really necessary? Nowadays ssh is the default afaik. Removing it would make the article shorter, more to the point and perhaps less confusing.
Also, I think talking about getting pkgsrc installed should be moved to another article or even pointed off-site to the pkgsrc documentation. No need to talk about how to get pkgsrc on your system for EVERY howto that deals with packages.
> You can remove CVS_RSH from the Article, if it's default and not necessary.
> Unfortunately you need pkgsrc to build Apache2 with PHP support. You can write an Article describing pkgsrc only and then remove the pkgsrc part from this article with a link to pkgsrc. That would make also sense for all Software needing pkgsrc. --Z.
Good tutorial
I just went through the procedure described in this tutorial. Normally, such tutorials forgets to mention some important details, leading to hours of googling, swearing and reading cryptic man-pages. That didn't happen this time. Everything worked as described. Well done! Ahy1 21:17, 22 August 2006 (CEST)
- Thank you. I wrote it. It was one of my first articles. It was my approach to write a complete tutorial. That's one of the main points of this wiki. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to verify all howto's. zafer 01:28, 23 August 2006 (CEST)

wouldnt it be a good idea to separate the different parts (like pkgsrc should be in a different article), and link them with a short explanation? --Replaced 20:12, 5 February 2008 (CET)
Yes, definitely. zafer 22:33, 5 February 2008 (CET)
