Talk:Get NetBSD
From NetBSD Wiki
- Do not add non-working or incomplete Mirrors.
- Do not add Mirrors without Location or Hosting Companies.

Should we really duplicate every single mirror that's listed on the official NetBSD site? This means we need to maintain this, too. It's a better idea to only list those that are non-official (like the LiveCD projects and such). What do you guys think? Sjamaan 13:30, 6 September 2006 (CEST)
- the difference is that this list shows only working mirrors, not all mirrors, because most of the mirrors on netbsd.org are not working or incompete. It also contains inofficial mirrors not listed on netbsd.org zafer 15:30, 6 September 2006 (CEST)
- IMHO that should be fixed by sending a message to www@, not by stubbornly maintaining our own copies and allowing the official list to gather dust. Sjamaan 15:21, 7 September 2006 (CEST)
- You don't want to know, how many times I already did that. Locating the mirror maintainer takes time (a couple of month), and netbsd doesn't change the the mirror list, until the maintainer is contacted and have reported a failure. zafer 22:02, 7 September 2006 (CEST)

- I also made a new Live CD (latest current), which I'm going to release soon. You can have a beta to test, if you want.
- OT. I'm thinking about presenting biographies of some NetBSD Developers, after interviewing them. What do you think ? zafer 15:38, 6 September 2006 (CEST)
- Sounds like a cool idea. Give people some faces to connect to NetBSD Sjamaan 15:21, 7 September 2006 (CEST)
- That would be interesting. Could some of the users ask questions? Markt
- And I'm thinking about a C programming course for primers mainly focused on NetBSD development, what do you think ? zafer 15:40, 6 September 2006 (CEST)
- Excellent idea! Just add to Category:Hacking and/or Hacking. My idea was to make this wiki useful for users as well as beginners and advanced hackers. (hence articles like File descriptors, Basic Unix programming and KNF. Sjamaan 15:22, 7 September 2006 (CEST)
- Great idea! I like to learn a little C. Markt
