Supported pkgsrc platforms

pkgsrc supports a large number of platforms. The level of support differs a bit between them, so it is good to know what supported actually means.

There are three levels of supports:

  • Basic support:
    • Someone has tried to port pkgsrc to that platform.
    • The necessary files (mk/platform) are in the pkgsrc infrastructure.
  • (FIXME: Word missing) support:
    • Someone is currently using pkgsrc on that platform.
  • Active support:
    • There are bulk builds running on that platform.
    • Binary packages are publicly provided.

To measure the usefulness of pkgsrc on a platform, you can look at the latest Bulk build results for that platform, which are published on the pkgsrc-bulk mailing list.
