>> Thank you very much. We will be in need for the german translation and german wiki sysop's as soon, as the english wiki has grown a bit more, hopefully in 3-6 Month.
I'm a native french speaker, I will try to help translate the main pages of this wiki into french if I have enough free time. HellDragon 22:34, 1 July 2008 (CEST)
capitalization
What are the guidelines on capitalization? This is an issues as it pertains to categorization and sorting within categories. At Wikipedia the first letter is forced to uppercase, which is a nuisance on some articles (iPod), but does help immensely most of the time. Without autocapitalization, we'd need to make sure that Category:foo is the same as Category:Foo which would probably mean creating a redirect every time, and to sort case-insensitively to reduce confusion. I think it would be much easier to enable autocap! ⇔ ChristTrekker 16:52, 8 December 2006 (CET)
- Everything that is written in lower letters like defined names like pkgsrc are written in lower capitals. zafer 12:50, 9 December 2006 (CET)
- So if I encounter an article beginning with Uppercase, should I move it? Except when it is a proper name that should be Uppercased, of course. ⇔ ChristTrekker 18:19, 27 December 2006 (CET)
- I can see how that would be important in the article space, but for everything else (categories, templates, etc) autocapitalization would be great. The problem of some people using Category:Foo vs Category:foo will arise sooner or later, and this is the sort of thing editors shouldn't have to waste time fixing.
- Does anybody know how difficult it would be to hack MediaWiki to autocapitalize in all namespaces except the main (article) one?
- If that is too hard, how difficult would it be to hack MediaWiki so that category pages use a case-insensitive sort? Ordering A-Za-z will really hurt usability. Maybe it's even a setting you can change easily? ⇔ ChristTrekker 17:31, 10 April 2007 (CEST)

licensing
What is the licensing for this wiki content? I can't find the licensing. I suggest just using a standard BSD license.
- Right, just standart BSD. zafer 12:45, 9 December 2006 (CET)
signing articles
May I suggest that people don't sign the articles they write? Individuals' contributions are automatically stored in the history and easy to find. ⇔ ChristTrekker 16:22, 11 May 2007 (CEST)
categorization
I noticed several "How to install NetBSD..." articles recently changed with the comment "do not remove articles from How_to, if they contain How to in the article name" but I am a little confused. The articles were already in a subcategory. Do we have a policy about multicat, subcat, diffusing large cats, or something like that? ⇔ ChristTrekker 15:12, 18 February 2008 (CET)
feature request
ParserFunctions, please. Interwiki would be nice too. ⇔ ChristTrekker 16:23, 18 February 2008 (CET)
